Tony recently retired from the EMA in 2024 and was the former Head of the Regulatory Science and Innovation Task Force responsible for providing leadership to enable the Agency’s continuous future proofing through operation of a regulatory science observatory, addressing key scientific and technological trends and their translation through the development of regulatory science strategy, planning and governance activities. He qualified as a Pharmacilty from Trinity College Dublin and specialised in development of pharmaceutics in a number of pharmaceutical companies before moving into regulatory affairs and joining the EMA in 1996.
